It seems, even though we moved folders to a different folder, the onedrive client still pointing to the same contents

I 100% suspect this is something that you are doing, rather than the client itself. Most likely you are syncing | using client data that is not insync with OneDrive to begin with.

onedrive --synchronize --verbose --verbose --sync-shared-folders --single-directory Jenkins --confdir ~/.config/onedrive-business

Unsure why you are using my prior example - unless you have called your account / config directory as per above.

So lets step through your use case:

  1. You have a OneDrive Business Shared Folder called Jenkins. Inside this, there is a folder called Lat…
