Problem
A user trying out DejaCode for the first time was confused when attempting to import scan results. The user appears to have attempted to use the "Load Packages from SBOMs" Action rather than the more appropriate "Import Data from Scan" Action to load the file starship_engine_2.0_scan_results.json into a Product. The "Failure" status reported by DejaCode was not helpful, since the Import Status log shows "Success". See screenshots.

Enhancement benefits
Improved success rate for new DejaCode users importing data into a Product.

Solution
Needs additional analysis and design.

  • better up-front validation of import files, or
  • more flexible handling of different formats.

We also need to confirm that the documentation is correct and clear.
