This privacy policy governs the use of the software application Boxify for the Microsoft Universal Windows Platform (UWP) that was created by Adam Boe. The Application is as Spotify client for the Xbox One, featuring background audio support.
Boxify does NOT have a registration; no data leaves the confines of your device (excluding cloud syncing of applicaiton data tied to your Microsoft account which is used to keep application data synced bewteen multiple devices linked to the same Microsoft account - e.g. an Xbox One and a Windows 10 PC.).
The only use of personal information in Boxify is to log you in to your Spotify account if you so choose (to pull down personal spotify information such as personal playlists). Authentication with Spotify is accomplished with either your Spotify username and password, or through your Facebook username and password. Spotify's privacy policy can be found here: https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/privacy-policy/. Facebooks privacy policy can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. These username and password credentials are NEVER stored; only used to obtain authentication tokens for the Spotify Web API.
We do NOT save any information that would make it possible to contact you, NOR WOULD WE EVER WANT TO CONTACT YOU.
Boxify does NOT collect any information without your knowledge, including but not limited to: the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use the Application.
Boxify does not collect precise information about the location of your device.
The only data sent to third parties is the credentials needed to log into your Spotify account (either with your Spotify username and password or Facebook username and password).
We may disclose any information of the application:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
- when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request
- if Boxify is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information
You can stop any collection/storage of information by Boxify easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your device or via the application marketplace or network. You may also select the "Sign Out" option in the profile management section of the application.
We will store an authentication and authentication renewal token to access your Spotify information via the Spotify Web API - the actual Spotify credentials themselves are never saved. The tokens will be stores in your Microsoft account roaming data so as to be accessible from any device where you are signed in with your Microsoft account.
We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at [email protected]. We will delete such information from any files within a reasonable time.
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We do not process or maintain any of your data ourselves. All data is confied to the application (excluding cloud syncing of applicaiton data tied to your Microsoft account which is used to keep application data synced bewteen multiple devices linked to the same Microsoft account - e.g. an Xbox One and a Windows 10 PC.). Please be aware that, although we endeavor provide reasonable security for your information, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy in our GitHub repository here: https://github.com/aboe026/boxify/tree/master/Boxify/PRIVACY.md. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes. By using Boxify, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” means sharing credentials to/with Spotify or Facebook, storing access tokens in the roaming application data of Microsofts OneDrive service.
