What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install openvpn binary with android-openvpn-installer
2. use android-openvpn-settings to connect to openvpn-server with
push "redirect-gateway def1" set
3. test if all traffic is routed through vpn-connection

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
All Traffic should be routed through the VPN-Server, instead all traffic goes
through "standard" connection (eg. Wifi or 3G).
when calling 'route' on terminal I get the route to my Wifi-accesspoint.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
recent market versions of openvpn-settings and openvpn-installer

If I use the openvpn binary from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=702634
setting the route works (checked with 'route' on terminal) and traffic is
routed through the server.

I see the same problem on a rooted froyo based HTC desire.

VPN appears to set up 100%, VPN "internal" IP allocated and reported
but no traffic goes into the VPN pipe and all requests to internal
IP addresses result in "gateway timeout" (http:503 <<I think>>)

rom image used is:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741663

I have verified my own openvpn client / cert config files on:

Ubuntu lucid netbook with standard wifi (worked 100%)

Ubuntu lucid netbook using desire wifi hotspot (worked 100% once I solved
subnet conflicts!)

Ubuntu lucid netbook with USB tether

Windows XP SP3 netbook with openvpn GUI (works 100%)

So am confident that the problem is not "user generated" :-)

Glad to help solve this in any way possible

Does anybody have a follow-up on this ? I have the same issue:

- Openvpn installed and able to connect to VPN server
- able to ping LAN behind the VPN server/router
- yet all traffic still goes through the 3G or wifi (depending how the phone is
connected), nothing through the VPN tunnel.

Mobile : Samsung galaxy S2, 2.3.4 kernel (CF-Root), Revolution 2.6 ROM

Any help would be greatly appreciated
