I think changes like this will happen. For now, everyone's kinda testing the waters and getting supporting stuff out of the way. I've got some ideas for big additions, but I need time to learn how to do them. A lot of us have little to no experience with Godot, so that's a barrier on its own. The game came as a platformer, so we have an example for how a platformer in Godot works |

I feel like a way to do this would be to create 3/4 different game modes: 1: Story mode, which would be the one that followed gameplay changes, for example, starting with platformer levels, then jumping to the starship levels, planetarian levels,... Idk, just the idea Yeah, this is still a pretty dumb idea but that's up to everyone to decide whether it's worth it or a total loss of time |

it's a tricky thing all around, because there's value in curating an experience and having a (somewhat) linear path, but at the same time a big part of this project's ethos is in an embrace of creative chaos and allowing the experience to be a beautiful mess |

I didn't know which title to write and I don't know if it's been proposed already but since the idea was to make this game was to let it evolve with everyone's contributions, what if we tried to make meaningful gameplay changes jumping from genre to genre? As in, from platformer to RPG to kart racing to... Whatever we feel like could fit. It might be too naïve and stupid, but idk. It's not an idea for now, but since it's somehow kinda inspired in Mario we could follow some of the spin-off games he's been in and changing the core gameplay from section to section. E.g. we could make a sprite of a starship in the end of these "galaxy-themed" levels and then the game would become a Starfox/Shoot 'em up until it lands on a planet and then new gameplay. I just feel like this game shouldn't be constrained to being a platformer but at the same time I fear that it could get messy and dull if it is just a mixture of games without any thought on it.
