This might not be easy to implement, but one thing struck me as I used the search block, was how it would be even more useful if the width updated as I dragged on resize. This was on Chrome.

A similar feature was merged for Image block recently - #34649.

I am going back over my old tickets and still think this one based on the feature being added for image block is valid to add for search.
