Creating a Front Page in Block Themes - Lesson Plan #730
Comments
I am going to use this for my 'Contribute with Me' SLS tomorrow, specifically to talk about learning objectives. Stand by! :) |
Chiming in as a subject matter expert faculty member 👋🏼 I think this is a good topic to dive into but want to caution that so much of how this will work will depend on both the theme and the settings a user picks. It will be important to share some of that context around how the template hierarchy works to do it right. I also see this as part of material that already exists around simple site design with the site editor. What's the distinction here? What's the reasoning for having a separate lesson? Thinking long term with the Site Editor, folks should think less about a "front page" for your site and more about just what you want to show in the homepage with an easy way to switch that around, whether you're showing posts or page content. Something to keep in mind as I'd rather we create content about "how to make your homepage whatever you want" rather than furthering these distinctions. Base on the comment above, I'm closing this so that the team can prioritize creating other content. |
