I'm not sure who looks after the scripts but currently if you sort ascending/descending it does so case sensitively even if the compare is case insensitive.
I think it should match the compare setting, generally you are sorting within a case insensitive comparison environment precisely to line things up for comparison, which will fail if the sort casing doesn't match (as I've found out).

I don't think the "Ignore case" option and case sensitivity of sorting are always related, so I don't think they should be tied together.
However, I think it would be nice to add an option to sort without regard to case.

It may be an additional two menu items "Sort Ascending/Descending (case insensitive)" would resolve this, with the existing ones perhaps modified to say " (case sensitive)".
