Just a brainstorming thread: This is not required to be implemented.

Powerups can be buried within bricks, and fall out of the wall when hit. First paddle to touch them gets them.

  • Laser - Next ball to hit your paddle becomes a laser which blasts through all bricks.
  • Ball splits into multiple balls on hitting paddle
  • Ball sticks to paddle until user pushes a trigger
  • Explosive ball (blows up on collision, taking multiple bricks with it)
  • Slow down other opponents
  • slow down or speed up your ball or other's balls
  • grow or shrink paddle
  • double paddle

This includes support for ball modifiers that queue up for a player and
apply to the next ball that they hit.
