I've encountered this glitch in multiple games. TCG Card shop simulator, and Palworld, seem to trigger it most.
The game will run fine, and then freeze randomly. At that point you must alt-tab out and the game will run normally in the background. However switching back will freeze the game again. I believe proton has a flag or something tracking if the game if the main focus and that flag is somehow getting mixed up.
