Symptoms

The game won't start and shows this popup.

Installing vcrun2022 (it shows "repair") with protontricks does not solve the problem, although the popup stops appear.
During the open beta there was no such problem. Now in Early Access it is not playable.

Press play and wait a few seconds for the popup to appear.

I never really had given this game a go, but after last changes I wanted to have a look, after confirming on ProtonDB that it runs fine. It seems, also per this report, that this is not true anymore, game does not start at all with no error, tried with Experimental and 9.

I suspected it may be related to this changelog entry from 16.12.2024:

• Removed DirectX 11 support due to its incompatibility with some of the new game features

In case someone visits here before visiting protondb, there is a solution to this problem. You need to add 2 files from Windows to the game prefix - icuuc.dll and icuin.dll . They are in the system32 and syswow64 folders. I copied the files from and to both folders, just in case, and the game started.
