"Fear always causes hate"

Do we want to say that "fear" and "hate" are both states, and "causes" is a linker? This seems counterintuitive because "cause" is a lexical verb; linkers are usually function words. Moreover, "always" is then stranded; it really should modify the relationship between the two emotional states.

Other possibilities:

[Fear_S]_A always_D causes_P [hate_S]_A

[Fear_S]_A always_D causes_D hate_S

[Fear_S]_H [always_D causes_D hate_S]_H

I would choose the first option, since "fear" and "hate" are reified in this case.
