LICENSE YOUR WORK
If you would like to contribute to UBC-STAT/shiny-apps, you will have to choose a license. We do this to keep everyone honest and, if possible, keep material as open as possible. If we were to post your contribution with no license, then that means that the license is exclusive - all yours - no one else can even use it.
When you submit a resource, you can specify a license. If you don't, we will reach out to you. We can help you (although we are not lawyers).
For code, we recommend using
- the MIT License or
- the [GNU GPL v3](https://choosealicense.com/licenses/gpl-3.0/
For non-software material such as activity sheets, we recommend
- Creative Commons CC0 or CC-By
Some people use these brief desciptions:
- a GPL means that any derivatives must also be given the same license
- CC-0 means giving your work to the public domain - you won't be cited or attributed
- CC-by means you will be cited or attributed
But please rely on the legalese in the links below - or the advice of a colleague.
