Reading through the introduction I corrected several grammatical errors. Many came from using the wrong tense. In general, use past tense in reports for work done, work reported and observations. Present tense for general truths and atemporal facts. Future tense for perspectives (source).
A #rstats tool that could be helpful is the gramr package. But nothing beats reading your written work out loud and having someone else read it.
