working fbset

Is there any way that a working version, or whatever is missing could be added so that FBset works and changes the output resolution? Of course this would only be useful with the TV Out module , and would be disabled on the drivers for the LCDs but I would like to see higher resolutions on larger screens, 320x240 is a bit small for a tv screen and on worse hardware like DVD Players, the pixels look quite warped, and the aspect ratio is wrong unless it has an option to change it back to 4:3.
