Hi Amadornes, watched the ForgeCraft discussion about item drops in the world.
As item drops are a rare race condition case for the mod, and the mechanics rely on ejecting items from tubes, would it be a valid "workaround" to introduce a block (let's name it "Pile of Junk", or "Heap of Whatever") that is placed by the tubes and acts as a chest with overflow voiding. When the last stack is manually extracted by the player, the block is removed automatically. When the Pile is broken by something, only the amount of items are dropped that would be also dropped when a normal chest is destroyed (due to voiding excessive stacks). That would prevent server trolling and still keep the rest of the system as it is - so not not cross your future feature plans.
It's such a promising mod, it should not be blocked by a small aspect.
Cheers, wile -

I forgot: If there is no space around it's also an option to replace the tube that would bail out items with a kind of "burst tube" block with the same chest functionality as above ;).
