Lightning Rods (Vanilla) & Electrostatic Compressor

PneumaticCraft has the Electrostatic Compressor, which uses Iron Bars as lightning rods. The mechanic works as described, and other than Iron Bars not being the prettiest block to look at, nothing is wrong with the setup. The config even allows one to specify alternative blocks to Iron Bars for forming the grid.

However, with 1.19.2, actual lightning rods are now a vanilla feature. They're crafted with 3 Copper Ingots, they can be stacked on top of each other, they attract actual lightning (as opposed to the "fake" lightning the EC summons) and they do not form a grid.

I can't help but think that they should somehow be involved in the Electrostatic Compressor setup as a part of the default mod experience - however, because they don't have the same placement rules as Iron Bars do, and because they direct actual lightning bolts, I'm at an impasse as to how they should fit together, or if this is even a good idea...

Also, what about End Rods?

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?
