Checklist

  • I am able to reproduce the bug with the latest version given here: CLICK THIS LINK.
  • I made sure that there are no existing issues - open or closed - which I could contribute my information to.
  • I have read the FAQ and my problem isn't listed.
  • I have taken the time to fill in all the required details. I understand that the bug report will be dismissed otherwise.
  • This issue contains only one bug.
  • I have read and understood the contribution guidelines.

Affected version

0.27.1

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Add enough videos in a playlist so that scrolling becomes available
  2. Scroll down and click play a video
  3. Use player in fullscreen (landscape) mode
  4. After watching the video minimize player and end up back in playlist overview
  5. A little transparent bar is visible in the upper part of the screen (bug)
  6. Scrolling up for a few videos will cause the app to crash (also undoes any deletions you've made in the playlist before)

Opening any other screen like the channel page or leaving the playlist and entering it again prevents the crash

Expected behavior

I should be able to scroll up

Actual behavior

App crashes

Screenshots/Screen recordings

Image of transparent top bar that indicates a crash can be reproduced:

Affected Android/Custom ROM version

OxygenOS 14.0

Affected device model

OnePlus 9 Pro

Additional information

Can be reproduced 100% of the time

You can use Scoop from F-Droid to capture the crash report.

I don't currently have a desktop for ADB available
But generally I can reproduce the issue 100% of the time
Maybe someone else that has scoop running can confirm / deliver a log?

It works fine here. We can wait until a PC is available to you.

You can use Scoop from F-Droid to capture the crash report.

From my smartphone (under Android 12), I wasn't able to find it with the name sic... Then if someone meet this trouble use the word "crash" (inside the search), it will appear !
At the contrary, as you can probably assume (https://f-droid.org/en/packages/taco.scoop/) I had find it easily from the website.

Affected version : 0.27.2

Steps to reproduce the bug :

  1. Watch any video from YouTube (specially in fullscreen)
  2. Go to the history then take your time to scroll it
  3. That's the origin of the crash ? For example, if you want to reach the top very very very quickly, we don't know why this kind of bug continu to happen (none logs)
  4. Are you sure Scoop is able to provide them ?
  5. Can I recopy on my PC ? Could you provide the command lines in the case it's require ADB (I'm not very familiar with it).

NB : After the installation of Scoop_v2.4.2, I had discover a trouble (inside the Settings) :

1) READ_LOGS permission is denied
2) adb shell pm grant taco.scoop android.permission.READ_LOGS
3) READ_LOGS permission is granted
4) Next step ? Let's hope somebody will provide an explanation (which will be add to Wiki ?) because apparently there is no longer support.

I have tried to use ADB to give permission but it refuses to recognize my device.
So i can provide permission to scoop

Then there's nothing that can be done, really. At the very least, you can try reproducing on a different OS/device to make sure this isn't specific to yours.

Try to troubleshoot your ADB issue using the XDA website.

I believe this is due to my USB A to USB C cable having been broken and replaced by a different one
I assume the new one only does charging and no data / commands

And my computer doesn't have any USB C ports so I'm currently out of luck in that regard

Same issue on Android 9, MIUI 11.
You need add 20 any videos in playlist, scroll down and start watching any of the last 6.
And do that the author said.
It works 100% of the time.

I also want to say that a similar problem has already occurred in versions 0.25.0+ and its difference from this one was that the playlist header interface was also displayed on top of everything, I will find it later.

That seems to be the exact same issue to me from what I can see in the video and description
Didn't manage to find that issue when searching before opening mine though
