Subscribe hashtag feature

Feature description

Just like we can subscribe to channel and group them, it would be best to add option to subscribe to hashtag or group of hashtag. That way, it would be like a simplest video recommendation system based on hashtag.
When selecting hashtag for subscription, it would also be best to autocompletion listing/suggestion hashtag based on popularity

Why do you want this feature?

It will facilitate user to get updates on may be trending hashtag. It will encourage user to explore more channels. Newer but deserving youtube channels use popular hashtags for their reach and audience can reach them easily through the hashtags. There may be possibility that a particular hashtags are spammed🤔

If this is implemented, I don't think it should have a corresponding feed update, since a hashtag could potentially have 1000s of videos.

So the UI should probably also clearly demarcate this. Subscribed hashtags shown separately from subscribed channels.

Also, instead of a subscription, this function is looking more like a kiosk. So the ability to add a custom hashtag-based kiosk seems like what this feature request is at its core.

Hmm btw hashtag feed update can be seen just by searching that hashtag. 😅 Sorry😅
Wanted just a recommendation system by spoofing one kind of audience. Dont know if spoofing is possible 😅

Actually the main goal is not to enable user to subscribe hashtag since user can search that hashtag and get the feed update. The search history are stored.

The main goal i was thinking of is user should be able to choose categories of videos they want. According to the preferences, list of hashtags will be subscribed for them. Here the goal is not to make user think about hashtags they want. But to just ask them what categories they want. For example when no channel is subscribed, youtube shows channels based on categories as shown below

I think exploring channels are more important than exploring videos most of the times😅

Currently i think newpipe team is already working on rewriting codebase. So plan for next tine👍

There are over a thousand issues. They're not blocking the rewrite, and will mostly be handled after. This issue can remain open too.
