Searching european parliament elections brings up the relevant result. eu elections is very vague, so I wouldn't consider this surprising at all.

@julianfairfax No it is not vague. There is only one EU wide election. And even if it were vague, a search engine should be able to deal with vague queries...

I agree the results need to improve here. Fast and accurate ranking is by far the most difficult part of search, so it will take some time to get right.
