Hi!

Great job! I´m excited upgrading my desktop with this cube!

Would be madness sending data over USB to Raspberry? Also, Raspberry could cut off main power for panels following USB power.

I am not entirely sure that I understand what you want to do. Are you thinking of hooking up the cube to your PC via USB instead of streaming the CPU stats via Wifi? Or are you thinking about streaming video to the cube?
In principle USB is capable of doing either, but the basic problem is that both, the Raspberry Pi and your PC are USB host devices. Not sure if newer Raspberry Pis with USB-C might be able to act as peripherals, but at least for the USB-A Raspberry Pis I do not see a way to connect them directly to a PC.
