I’m encountering an issue in Orca Slicer where support generation behaves inconsistently for identical models, and I suspect it might be related to using multiple plates.
Details:
Slicer: Orca Slicer
Support Settings:
Enable Support: Checked
Type: Tree (auto)
Threshold Angle: 30°
Remove Small Overhangs: Enabled
Model: The model is exactly the same in both slices, and the orientation is identical.
Observations:
On a single plate, the model generates tree supports as expected.
On a multiple plate setup, supports are missing for the same model, even though all settings are identical.
Steps Tried:
Verified that support settings (global and per-object) are the same for both slices.
Re-sliced the models with no changes to geometry or orientation.
Checked for differences in overhangs using the slicer preview.
Suspected Cause:
The difference in behavior seems to be linked to using multiple plates. It appears that support generation might be misbehaving or not applying correctly in multi-plate scenarios.
Questions:
Has anyone else experienced inconsistent support generation in multi-plate setups?
Could this be a bug in Orca Slicer related to multiple plates?
Are there specific settings or workarounds to ensure consistent support behavior across all plates?
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
