odd support beahvior?

Im having some issues with my supports and they tend to behave differently than the ones in Bambu slicer. in orca, they generate some weird unconnected supports that sometimes cause my supports to fail. I've had several instances where the slicer will decide to just print some of the supports in the middle of the air and then later on connect them to an already built support. I'm also noticing that it's doing variable layer height even with the option turned off. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I actually like the way the official beta version of Bambu does their support and not sure if fever can implement that into orca.
