Pass variables into script being called,

Would it be possible to pass variables into the script being called? Two I can think of, the job, and the parameter name.

Would be great to have Jenkins variables accessible for script... Parameters would be much more templetized.

If someone can give me a hint where I can get the Job environment properties before executing the job, then I could add the job environment properties to the script context.
