Summary
Currently, you can only set one canvas resolution via a system action for the entire project. Doing so for individual layers would offer much more practical scaling solutions.
Possible workarounds or alternatives
There is none that I know of.
Proposed solution
The ability to control the resolution of each layer specifically (or to set a default canvas resolution, and apply a different one to chosen layers) would allow to scale the game itself, while keeping the UI crsip and clear.
This is especially important for 3D games, as on low end devices, scaling down the canvas resolution in crucial there.
Why is this idea important?
Low resolution is especially noticeable in the UI, as it's static and because text has to be sharp in order to be easily readable.
