Summary
The bookmark feature in Construct 3 is a great tool for keeping track of important event blocks, but it could be so much better, especially for larger projects. Right now, it’s easy to lose track of bookmarks when you have tons of them scattered across a big event sheet. That’s why I think Bookmark Folders would be a fantastic addition.
Bookmark Folders would make organizing projects way more manageable. With folders, you could group related bookmarks into categories like "Player Controls," "UI Tweaks," or "Boss Mechanics." just pop open the folder and jump straight to what you need.
Another huge win would be for those of us who deal with repetitive tasks. In my case, every time I add a new hero to my game, I need to update several specific lines of code. Having a folder just for "Hero Adjustments" would make this process a breeze. Instead of hunting down all the relevant events each time, I could just go to the folder and handle everything in one go. It’s a game-changer for staying organized when working on ongoing updates or expansions.
Bookmark Folders could also make debugging so much easier. You could have folders like "Bugs" or "Optimizations".
As for how it could work, it doesn’t need to be complicated. You’d be able to create folders with a simple right-click, drag bookmarks into them, then double click any bookmark folder to open it. Here's an image concept:
