Summary

The Sprite Editor could really use some improvements. It's a tool inside of Construct that I'm sure most game developers spend a lot of time in. But at the moment we can't even do other selections that rectangular selections. A free form lasso and a magic wand would be very much appreciated. And layers. The main competitor of Construct has now a pixel art app integrated to the product. We should get something better for sprite/animation editing.

Possible workarounds or alternatives

The only workaround is to use a third-party tool, which by necessity makes the workflow far more complex as it required moving files back and forth between applications.

Proposed solution

-Add a free form lasso selection tool to Sprite Editor
-Add a magic wand selection tool to Sprite Editor
-Add layer support to Sprite Editor

Why is this idea important?

I can't imagine a more central tool than the Sprite Editor. A lot of time is spent there, but the image editing features are very limited.

These would be pretty handy to have.
