transformeR: An R package for climate data post-processing

Bedia, J., Iturbide, M., and Gutiérrez, J.M.

transformeR is an R package for climate data manipulation and transformation including subsetting, regridding, and data conversion. This package builds on two main data structures (grid and station) to deal with gridded and point data (including metadata) from observations, reanalysis, seasonal forecasts and climate projections. Thus, it considers ensemble members as a basic dimension of the data structures. This package is part of the climate4R bundle, formed by loadeR, transformeR, downscaleR and visualizeR.

This wiki provides an up-to-date description of the package functionalities, with some worked examples:

  1. Package Installation
  2. Included illustrative datasets
  3. Standard data manipulation
    1. Creating multi-grids
    2. Grid aggregation
    3. Grid subsetting
    4. Regridding
  4. Principal Components (and EOFs)
  5. Clustering and Weather Types
