+1 on the CHANGELOG. Even if this is pretty safe, we still want to communicate what's different in newer versions

Got caught with v2.1.0 being picked up in a dependency upgrade that broke behavior in my app because I did not have the right peer dependency level. A change log would've helped identify the problem more easily.

I will also opine that either v2.1.0 should've been v3.0.0, or the old implementation should've been kept as fallback.
