Perhaps the category of mob that it prevents from spawning would be dependent on whether a layer of a certain material exists in the tower. So if you want passive mobs to not spawn as well you just need a layer of X block. The config could add an option for custom layers keyed to entity tags.
Describe the feature you have in mind.
It would be nice to have some sort of toggle by interacting with the flame, to set spawn protection from ALL mob types.
I use this in complex tech mods to basically reduce server ticks wasted on AI.
As far as I understand, the mod currently only prevent hostile mobs from spawning.
It could be done by datapack, but in large modpacks it would be a very long and tedious process to flag everything, unless there's a simple way.
