We are standing publicly in solidarity with families and communities resisting detention and deportation in order to stay together.
Who will benefit (directly and indirectly) from this project?
The New Sanctuary Coalition (http://www.newsanctuarynyc.org), a non-profit organization that accompanies undocumented immigrants to their removal hearings and check ins ICE, provides support and advocacy for detained immigrants, and holds a weekly pro se clinic to assist immigrants applying for asylum, work authorization, etc.
Where can we find any research/data available/articles?
Developers comfortable working in Ruby on Rails to contribute to the database application, which the NSC depends on to manage their programs. The accompaniment program and asylum clinic has grown exponentially this year and NSC has added new programs (anti-detention work and the bond program) to meet growing needs in the community. We are building features to meet the needs of growth and new programs.
What are the next steps (validation, research, coding, design)?
