Can't change the namespace of path markers

When I use the publishPath() functions, I can't change the namespace of markers and all the path markers shows the default marker namespace cylinder even I explicitly assign another name.
I found here and here caused the problem.
Is this an expected behavior?

I am not surprised by this behavior but its not ideal. If you would like to have publishPath() have a different namespace (e.g. "path" by default) feel free to add that, it has just never been needed before.
