Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
A mechanism does not yet exist to disable polling of the display. Polling appears to happen automatically. It frustrates me when LG display types (OLED non-commercial) stop communicating via the serial comport when they shut off (even with power saving features disabled). It would be great to have a mechanism to stop polling the display if/when the display is off.

Describe the solution you'd like
Create option to enable/disable three polling levels within the display. Polling levels utilize the similar polling mechanism currently in use but includes levels to determine amount of API calls to include in poll. Level 1 includes power only. Level 2 includes power and input. Level 3 includes everything (power, input, and volume). Level 0 allows polling to be disabled.

Describe alternatives you've considered
No alternatives come to mind for this issue.
