Wenzhi's manuscript:

In our study, the relationship of PAR and transpiration was stronger than the relationship of VPD and transpiration both in the shoreline and upland (Figure 7), which suggested solar radiation played a more important role on red maple transpiration than VPD. Similarly, under sufficient water conditions, solar radiation has greater influences on sugar maples’ daily transpiration than VPD (Collins et al., 2018). In a mixed-hardwood forest in Michigan, red maple transpiration measurement also revealed it has closer relationship with PAR than VPD (Bovard et al., 2005). For mangrove species growing at saline water, several studies found the relationships between PAR and sap flux were stronger than for VPD and sap flux (Krauss et al., 2015a; Muller et al., 2009).

I’d suggest noting this text and coming back to it / citing it in your js/rs analysis; a good justification for why we might look at different-PAR days to test coupling strength and speed between js and rs.
