Description: I have previously created a rather large mod pack for MC v1.16.5 on Forge, which closely revolved around a bunch of mods I'd call "essential" such as: Ice and Fire, Farmer's Delight, Mowzie's Mobs, Alex's Mobs, etc.
Now that MC v1.20.1 mods have sprouted up more and about all of the ones I'd used in my past mod pack are updated, I would love to bring it to v1.20.1 and take advantage of even newer mods (such as Ribbits, very cute mod). However, Dynamic Surroundings is hands down my favorite Ambience-related mod and I can't seem to find a proper way to recreate it on v1.20.1 Forge. I have called those 4 mods earlier "essential" but that 1.16.5 mod pack would really not feel great without Dynamic Surroundings, so I would argue this is the "one" essential mod as both me, the buddies I play with and the people I influence to this mod pack all value ambience a lot.

I have tried:

  • Using the Fabric version (the one I've put up in the Mod Version as well, 0.3.3) together with Sinytra Connector.

This works and bring most of this mod's functionality to Forge, however due to the nature of Connector, it was going to be inevitable: trying to use the entire mod pack (without even having finished adding everything to it yet) causes my game to crash before loading into Main Menu, therefore not a viable option at this time.

  • Using other mods that would fill in the gaps I feel missing from this mod such as:

    AmbientSounds 6
    Presence Footsteps (great mod btw)
    Sound Physics Remastered
Even using these together, they create a decent ambient but yet, things still feel lacking.. the cold breath in colder areas, the clinking of armor as I walk, the neat HUD sounds like raising a weapon, the wood creaking in a house or even basement occasionally, the village ambience.. Small details but they really make it so much more enjoyable.

I know this is not the first time it's been said, but I can't come to a conclusion other than needing this mod's Forge version to update to be used on MC v1.20.1. Is that in the plans/in the making? Or if that's just a far fetched dream, can I find other mods that fill in those gaps? Because I've been looking and I can't find much.

Not sure on how GitHub works so I will leave this tag here just in case: @OreCruncher
