Hi All,

Thanks for a great first session Wednesday. Thank you to Dr. Julie Lowndes for guest teaching about Better Science for Future Us and sharing more examples during the Q&A like how data can look different for each of us! Our team commented on how engaged everyone was, especially in the shared agenda, and heard recurring themes of the importance of documentation, workflow, and version control. Below is a light digest of Call 1, including a reminder to schedule your Seaside Chat before Call 2 and to save the date for an additional optional Co-Working time after Call 2 on Wed., Sep. 7th, 2-3 pm. Looking forward to seeing you then!

Water Boards' Openscapes Teams Channel - connect with all Openscapse Champions cohorts at the Water Board

Goals: We started working towards a common understanding of the Openscapes mindset and what better science can look like for future us.

Task for next time:

  1. Have a Seaside Chat:
  • Talk with your cohort team about how you want to do this, use whatever communication works. Reflect on Cohort Call 1.
  1. Begin to think about your Pathway:
  • Get familiar with the Pathway - Think about how to make it your own and start to focus on your trailhead (where you are now).
  • Pathways Sheet (File > Make a copy)

Upcoming OPTIONAL Cohort Co-working Session: Thur., Sep. 7th, 2:00-3:00 pm.

  • This is a time to come work on your own things, but also be able to talk things through and screenshare to get help from others.
  • Calendar invitations have been sent to all Cohort members. If you do not see the invitation on your calendar, please reach out to Anna.
