In nightly tests, we sometimes observed that a sharable disk attached to 2 VMs fails to be detected on 2nd VM.

  • it only happens when there is a significant load on the hypervisor (tests runs in nested virt.)
  • fails with TM: ceph, qcow2 (shared)
  • VM1 shows attached disk correctly
  • VM2 no, (libvirt shows disk attached correctly).
  • workaround: echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host0/scan
