Summary

Plan and execute the logistics and program management for the FOSDEM Distributions DevRoom in Brussels, Belgium in February 2025, in concert with co-organizers from other communities.

Background

Together with @shaunix, @amoloney1, and @sumantro93, we are representing various voices on the Distributions DevRoom organizing team, either as one or a mix of Red Hat OSPO, CentOS, and/or Fedora communities. We participate together with members from other distribution communities, like benny Vasquez (AlmaLinux), Rich Brown (openSUSE), Lucas Kanashiro (Debian), and Mauro Gaspari (Ubuntu).

• Launch call for proposals in FOSDEM Pretalx system
• Promote CFP in community channels for Fedora, CentOS, and Red Hat
• Review CFP submissions with co-organizers
• Publish final schedule by 15 December
• Create volunteer sign-up form for helping run the DevRoom
• Build a schedule for volunteers

Outcome

• Fedora and CentOS continue to play influential roles in the planning, execution, and image of the FOSDEM Distributions DevRoom
• Better connection of our communities to cross-distribution collaboration and solving ecosystem problems together, therefore unlocking true upstream value for our downstream ecosystem
