A more up to date fork of this library has posted the below in their README.
Just making note as something similar here would have saved me a lot of time finding alternatives; I didn't know that the 'official' library now has all the functionality in it that I used aredis for in the first place.
Could something similar be posted to the README here, or is there still a raison d'etre for aredis?
Since this library was created, the official redis-py library has gained all the functionality added here (namely: asyncio support, cluster support, and a few bugfixes). We now heavily recommend using the official library and will no longer be maintaining yaaredis.
redis-py can be found on Github and is available as pip install redis.
