I can't open NMM

I simply can't start NMM.
I installed it perfectly fine, and have a shortcut on my desktop, but I can't open it. When I try, it tells me that windows 'Is searching for the file' or something. There's an option to browse for the file myself, and I can find it, but it's a folder, and for whatever reason I can't use the folder as the file windows is looking for or something. I can only open the folder to see a bunch of files inside.
