CCPP Framework Meeting Minutes 2022 12 06
Attendees: Mike Kavulich,
-
457: ccpp-framework not working with Python 3.11
- Fix in PR 456; still not merged.
- Has been approved; any tests still needed?
- Fix in PR 456; still not merged.
-
Merge procedure for framework changes
- This isn't specified in the Development Workflow page
- Should it be a ccpp framework code manager, or a ufs code manager?
In the past, we have always made a PR to the fv3atm first, then communicate to fv3atm code manager, and also to ufs-weather-model so the appropriate PRs can be created (usually merged with something else)
-
Big question: roles and responsibilities
- Prior to merging PR to ccpp-framework, Testing should first be run on the fork/branch PR coming from
- Ask
For this week, Dustin will bring up this PR at ufs weather model code management meeting
-
Mike is working on talk for AGU; not ready for review yet, but a few questions:
-
Are there any chemistry- or aerosol specific CCPP efforts that I should highlight? The session I am in (A56C: Evaluating Model Representations of Aerosol, Cloud, and Chemical Processes) is physics based but specifically highlights chemistry and aerosol modeling.
-
There are, but we should give some programmatic thought
- CCPP-CAM (chemistry)
- CCPP compliant Chemistry schemes being brought up to date with P8 (prototype 8) for UFS applications
- At NCAR, Frances Vid (Abstract interfaces for Chem code/CCPP)
- Does not yet use CCPP Framework, but that is the future goal
- CCPP-CAM (chemistry)
-
-
Would someone like to volunteer as note-taker for these meetings?
