Are we in a position to share physics with NCAR?

• try to use NCAR's YSU scheme in the UFS
  • will show us how easy/difficult it really is
  • science-wise, the MPAS-UFS version should be close
  • find someone at DTC to do this (Grant?)
  • not an operational scheme/scheme of interest for EMC, but there are users for it in the UFS/SCM community
• not a high priority for NCAR, but try to use Thompson MP from UFS in MPAS
• down the road, we want to facilitate the logistics around it (how to use/search for schemes, suite definition files, ...)
• discussion of standard names from NCAR MMM
  • misuse of vertical_dimension_plus_one instead of vertical_layer_dimension?
  • do we support vertical_dimension_begin and vertical_dimension_end?
• put more emphasis on dictionary of standard names
• role of ESPCI? meeting with physics developers from different organizations?
