Sokol is a more mature framework and inspired Gunslinger (as mentioned in the readme). I would say one thing GS differs from sokol is various utils that I personally use for projects, such as the GUI, mesh, material, and pipeline extensions and meta programming utils. I also support compute shaders, which sokol still doesn't (afaik), due to wanting to keep its API compliant with GLES2. But GS is hardly a direct competitor. I wrote it to have my own framework that I own for my personal projects, and if others want to use it, I'm happy to help them. If you're looking for something with tons of community support and backing, sokol is the way to go. |

Hi
I was wondering how would you characterize Gunslinger against sokol?
Both seem to be in the same niche and can be taken as low level game/media framework.
What benefits would I get by using Gunslinger, when there is sokol with a larger community and articles/resources etc.
