There are problems with the escript Evaluate class due to some changes in the newer versions of sympy.
The most likely solution would be to have PrintEsysEscript printer class which is already set up but not really implemented yet.
As the interface to sympy is defacto not working, compilation with sympy it is now switched off by default.
