easiest way to fix this issue is to enter pwndfu, dump blobs, then restore using those blobs one idea i also have is try to jailbreak again using the script (even if its already jailbroken) to see if the issue with cydia gets fixed, but idk if this will even change anything |

Thanks for your quick answer and your work! Would you say running the jailbreak again is risky? |

i dont think its risky since no tweaks are installed and the nature of the 9.1-9.3.4 jailbreak does not mess with system files much, but im not too sure |

I did the jailbreak with the script again, still the same problem. According to the logs the folders in /private/var/lib/ are created, but it does not seem to work. here are the logs:*** Legacy iOS Kit *** - Script by LukeZGD -

[Log] Checking firmware keys in ../resources/firmware/iPhone5,2/10B329
[Log] Entering recovery mode...

Sorry i have just now seen the following line in the log: I tried to connect with the iproxy file that is downloaded by the script. iproxy:
ssh:
did i do something wrong? i have rebooted 2 times, so autoinstall should have happened |

thats because deb autoinstall will not work if cydia is broken. if you dont mind trying to jailbreak again, replace the this should extract the files needed for openssl and openssh to the filesystem and make ssh work (hopefully) as for fixing up cydia, it might be easier with ssh working but tbh i still dont know on how to get it working on your situation |

Thanks for your efforts but unfortunately openssh does not work, exact the same behavior as before. Logs*** Legacy iOS Kit *** - Script by LukeZGD -

Users-MacBook-Pro:Legacy-iOS-Kit user$ Do i need to reboot multiple times to get it work? I sideloaded Filza again, after the first jailbreak i could read (not write) all folders in /, now i can only read the folders in Applications. |

unfortunately i dont really know on how to help you any further with this sorry you may try to experiment with using an ssh ramdisk for retrieving files but since this is ios 9+ the data partition may be read only or might not even read properly because of data protection stuff they added also dont forget to dump blobs if you havent, they will be useful in the event you got your data and want restore the device preserving its current ios version moving to discussion too |

No problem, appreciate your help! If somebody else has an idea, I would greatly appreciate it! I just need a onetime ssh connection to the phone or a terminal that can escape the sandbox. |

I have an Iphone 5 with iOS 9.3.2 (13F69), I tried to jailbreak it with jbme4, but that only crashed safari and did not work - so I jailbroke it with the restore.sh script. Everything seemed to work, so I closed the terminal and did not save the logs...
After opening cydia i got the following error: "Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (2: No such file or directory)".
After some searching, I found some old reddit posts on how to fix this, but nothing seems to work because I cant connect to openssh or get a terminal working.
What i tried so far:

My goal is to get openssh working, without resetting the phone (resetting and losing data is no option).
