Would it be reasonable to use CloudWatch metrics for this? The S3 and RDS metrics (as well as Lambda, SQS, and other health/monitoring metrics) will already be published on a daily-ish rate (up to second/minute for lambda and queue metrics). There might be a couple custom metrics to publish, but otherwise most of this should be out of the box available, just need to knit together a nice CloudWatch dashboard.
