Here are the steps I follow to reproduce the issue:
open stepconf
configure stepper for at least one axis
click "test this axis"
in the dialog that opens, press any button
This is what I expected to happen:
axis parameters can be tested and configured as per the documentation
This is what happened instead:
an dialog with an error message is opened:
It worked properly before this:
first time using LinuxCNC, no prior experience
