Plans for plugin for Galaxy Watch 5? #2
Comments
You can add it to the list of packages here: https://github.com/Linux4/GalaxyWearable/blob/master/.github/workflows/check.yml#L29 The patches currently included might just work for it. If they do you can just open a PR here and I'll be happy to merge it. |
Sorry if this was addressed, but was there any follow up? Did jangboolee succesfully pair using another version of your patches? Seems the Watch5 plugin name is : |
Hey @JSha87, Sorry I never followed up - I actually changed watches soon after making this post and I decided not to use my S10e because I couldn't connect to the 4G network with it, no matter what I tried. So I never really tried, and won't be trying, as I'll soon be switching to GrapheneOS on a Pixel, which ironically, has better support for pairing Galaxy Watches than a Samsung phone running another custom ROM. |
First of all, thank you for your work in supporting the custom ROM scene, especially LineageOS. I really appreciate it, and I hope I can get to the point of also being able to contribute to the project soon.
I have a S10e running a fork of LineageOS (iodeOS), and I want to be able to connect my Galaxy Watch 5 to it, fully accepting the decreased privacy as a trade-off for the convenience of being able to use my smart watch. I also don't want to go through the trouble of rooting my device, if possible, although I know that rooting my device and spoofing the device name is a workaround to get Galaxy Watches working on Samsung devices running custom ROMs.
I got further with your patched Galaxy Gear app than I ever did, but I wasn't able to fully connect due to missing plugins for the Galaxy Watch 5.
Do you have any plans to develop a plugin for the Galaxy Watch 5?
