The existing Digital Covid Certificates do not provide strong privacy properties, it can expose a lot of information about an individual, and can further be used to create a map of the places the person has visited and therefore be used as a tracking system.
A radical improvement to privacy would be to give up the covid pass altogether.
I'm rather astonished to see that NYM is used to endorse one of the most totalitarian measures of the 21st century, along China's credit score system, which your "solution" could be applied to. At the end of the day, we'd still have to show our health status to the security agent. And you know, use a phone, with a GPS chip activated by default on it.
Also, this system allows sharing private keys with your dissenting non-compliant friends - so the only way to identificate yourself is by disclosing your identity data in the QR code and verifying it - as it currently is the case if you take a plane in Europe.
Anayway, thanks to NYM, some obscure government body prevents my pregnant wife from entering an hospital, BUT I don't leak personal data!
Yay, crypto-anarchism, amirite?
