What problem does the current design create?

Combat can get boring, and worldspeakers should have tools to throw new challenges at players in interesting ways.

What solution would you like?

Add a twist system. The Worldspeaker spends a Twist token, and then rolls on a table. The rolled twist takes effect.

This may be combat effects (like lair actions), or modifiers to exploration and social events.

Mechanical structure: table with increasing rolls based on danger level. Earlier options are less scary.

Vary these by monster type, font, etc.

WS can swap items of the same tier freely in a power-neutral way.

Open questions

  1. How do GMs get tokens?
  2. How exactly are these tables generated for each situation?
  3. Exact conversion between danger level and rolls
  4. How do we handle events that only make sense in combat?
